Unveiling The Travails Of 21 Savage Before Finally Becoming Famous

21 Savage is a gifted American-based rapper, singer, and songwriter, who is a native of the United Kingdom. Along with his musical talent, he is revered for his extraordinary journey to fame, from being a petty street offender. Today, he is a well-known Teen icon.

But before his rise to fame, before 21 Savage had over 11 million Instagram followers, 3.7 million Twitter followers, 6.66 million YouTube subscribers, and 2.7 billion channel views, before 21 Savage would become famous, before he would release the songs "air it out," "skirtt skirtt," "red rag blue rag," "one foot," and "red opps," and before he would win the Grammy for best rap song with J. Cole.

His story is one of the most fascinating ones I have ever heard; it includes family members who have died as a result of gang violence, him taking six bullets, numerous face tattoos, a foreign birth that no one was aware of until recently, as well as monumental success, enormous wealth, and, of course, a ton of memes.

Shéyaa Bin Abraham Joseph, better known as 21 Savage, was born on October 22, 1992, in Playstow, London's New Ham Hospital, to Heather Carmilla Joseph and Kevin Cornelius Emmetts. His parents came from both Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

His father and two identical twin sisters, Kyra and Jada Davis, still reside in England. He also has an older brother by the name of Quantivayus.

Young Shéyaa moved to Atlanta with his mother when he was seven years old, settling in the gritty neighborhood known as Decadar due to his parents divorce when he was a young child. Growing up, he lost several loved ones, including an uncle who was shot and died in front of him when he was just 11 years old.

At the age of 12, he did travel back to England for a funeral. At that time, he obtained a H-4 visa, which allowed him to travel back to the United States but would expire after a year. His mother fell in love with a doctor, and the two would go on to have additional kids together, including a sibling named Tayman who would eventually die in a shoot out and who is thought to be the inspiration for 21 Savage have the tattooed knife on his forehead.

Young Shéyaa, who was raised in Atlanta, was exposed to street life at a young age and became involved with marijuana. At the age of 14, he started selling the drug for a profit.

Due to gun ownership at one point while he was in the seventh grade, he was suspended from not only his school but also all the schools in his county district. He had a fall out with another guy, and when he learned they were about to jump him, he made the decision to carry a gun into the school. He was transported to a youth correctional facility for this when they actually snitched on him to the teachers rather than jumping him.

He would later switch schools before leaving high school in his first year to pursue a career as a full-time drug dealer. He had already created a somewhat lucrative career selling marijuana out of his mother's home by this point. Things were going really well; he eventually managed to acquire his mother a car before getting her an apartment.

He was a member of a crew, and they all chose the number 21 as their gang name. Then at 16, he decided to get a 21 tattoo on the side of his face. At the age of 19, his crew got involved in a fight with the bloods, but Savage claims that he gets along well with many crips as well.

The crew's gang activity included robbery, car theft and this resulted in him getting detained for having drugs in his car. Now life as a street hustler was keeping him occupied and he also managed to have two kids at this time.

In a shootout, he would also lose his close friend Larry. When a rival gang opened fire on 21 Savage during an attempted heist on his 21st birthday, his best friend Johnny was also killed. In addition, the mother of their acquaintance was also murdered.

21 was shot six times during this altercation, including once in the hand and once in the neck, and he had to spend some time in the hospital getting well.

After the passing of his best buddy and turning 21, he started to hunt for a better way to support himself and started to take rapping seriously. His favorite album was Gucci Mane's "Sun Valley", and Gucci had always been his favorite musician.

He had been experimenting with the airform with his brother Tayman and had been interested in rap for a while. He and his brother robbed a house, taking with them a computer and a microphone, which Savage used to build up his own personal studio in his house.

Then, sorrow struck once more when his younger brother Tayman passed away on March 19, 2014. Savage decided to carve a dagger between his eyes in honor of his brother.

While creating his Instagram account, he came up with the name 21 Savage. He released his debut track, "pinky," which was created by DJ Plock, in November 2014. 2015 saw the release of "the slaughter tape," his debut mixtape. The next year, he would release his collaboration EP, "Free Guwop," in honor of Gucci Mane, an Atlantean who was also a major influence on him. Now, a second mixtape called "slaughter king" followed this.

Along with Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, and Designer, he was selected one of the 2016 XXL freshmen class. In the same year, he also collaborated with Metro Boomin to produce his 2016 EP, "Savage Mode," which received widespread attention and reached at number 23 on the Billboard 200.

21 Savage's platinum-selling single "X", featuring Future, spurred his quick signing with Epic Records. His first studio album, "Issa album," arrived at number 2 on the US Billboard 200 in 2017, and his breakout single hit, "bank account," as well as his collaboration with Post Malone on "Rockstar," which became 21 savage's first number-one song, both quickly rose up the charts.

Around this time, he allegedly started dating Amber Rose and moved in next door to the cloudhouse where YouTube stars Faze Banks and Ricegum were staying. He has now collaborated with YouTuber Jake Paul on a video that has received an astounding 12.5 billion views.

Despite his difficult upbringing in real life, 21 Savage has had a spectacular rise to the top and has established himself as a strong advocate for philanthropy and doing good.
