6ix9ine is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and Internet personality, known for his unique rainbow-themed look, tattoos, aggressive style of rapping.
Nine of his singles have been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and two gold.
But before these, before 6ix9ine worked with artists including Nicki Minaj, Young Thug, Tory Lanez, Fetty Wap, Hey Boogie with Hoodie, and of course Trippy Red, before he released tunes like fefe, billy, gummo, keke, and tati.
Before Trippy would abandon 6ix9ine due to charges of statutory rape and a nasty, protracted feud, before making the switch from an underground soundcloud rapper to an unquestionably mainstream musician, 6ix9ine grew up in a difficult area and was extremely poor.
He often went to sleep hungry. He actually wore clothing that his mother had dug out of the trash. He experienced the devastating loss of one of his closest family members at a young age, which resulted in him being expelled from school and forced to work to help support his family.
Without further ado, let's jump right into Tekashi69's fascinating life and profession before he became famous.
On May 18, 1999, Daniel Hernandez was born in Brooklyn's Bushwick district, New York. He grew up with his brother and was raised by both his parents. He is a mixed-race Hispanic. His dad is Puerto Rican, and his mother is Mexican, originally from Aklisco Puebla Flores in Mexico.
A significant component of Hernandez's brand is the number 69 which has already been inscribed over 200 times on his body. 6ix9ine claims that the number has something to do with his childhood, although he is quite evasive when asked what it represents. He said that 69 is merely a stage of life.
Daniel, who is now a young man, used to frequently go to bed hungry when he was little, and he never had money for new clothes. One day, his mother gave him a pair of shoes that she had rescued from the trash, he wore them to school and one of his classmates identified the shoes as a pair that they had thrown away.
On the plus side, Daniel was a well-liked student. He was the class clown who was never teased and had the self-assurance to always be himself, but after tragedy hit, everything changed.
Daniel's father was murdered when he was just 13 years old, and the crime took place not far from the family's house. After this incident, Daniel started having serious problems. He started getting into trouble at school and was eventually expelled in the eighth grade.
At the same time, his mother was having more difficulty than ever before paying the expenses. Daniel started seeking for work as a result, to help with the costs. He was hired for a short time as a busboy but was sacked since he couldn't lift heavy plates. He kept working standard jobs, but eventually they were unable to cover the bills.
He and his brother sold narcotics to supplement their income. After starting his new family drug business, Daniel started spending more time with his brother than before.
Daniel got exposed to the metal music because his brother was a member of a metal band. He was at the time listening to "All that remains" and "parkway drive," two heavy metal bands that would later serve as some of his early musical influences.
Unfortunately, not all of the drug dealing went well. When Daniel was working in a bodega at one time, the owner of the business discovered him selling heroine. Thankfully, it served as the wake-up call Daniel needed at the time.
From that point forward, he made the decision to remain morally upright even though it meant that the only places he could find to crash were basement floors. However, there was something about 6ix9ine that would help launch him to internet fame.
6ix9ine never depended on wearing designer clothing. Instead, he created his own distinct style, which he would later use to become well-known online. According to him, he had a number of well-known Instagram accounts in the beginning but had his accounts regularly deactivated for posting offensive stuff. As he puts it, "I'm the king of getting my instagram remove".
Yet even after his accounts were disabled, people continued to repost and share his photos online, turning Daniel into a virtual meme with new images of him appearing online all the time while wearing outrageous outfits.
Around 2012, 6ix9ine and Sarah, the mother of his child, began dating. Around July 2015, she became pregnant two months before he was released from prison, at which point they had their daughter Serie.
6ix9ine wasn't involved in the Soundcloud rap scene despite being regarded as one. With the help of YouTube videos, he expanded his fan base, but up until 2018, he had never established his own YouTube channel. In the beginning, all he did was create music, videos, and release them via a label, "Fck them", based in Slovakia where he had a sizable fan base.
He actually made his live debut during a tour of Eastern Europe in the spring of 2017, and his first gig there, was a sold-out event in Prague.
Who knew that his first music video was made when he was only 15 years old? It was called 6-9, but sadly, it was taken down from YouTube. In actuality, all of the initial videos were removed. He therefore appears to be the master at having his YouTube videos removed as well. "Scum life," which debuted in July 2015, is his oldest music video that looks to be still accessible on the "Fck them" channel.
6ix9ine began rapping for entertainment purposes, but because to his distinctive unique style, he gradually developed into a dedicated recording artist. But he claimed that he only began making music because others thought he was incredibly good at it and that he had no actual desire to become a rapper. Throughout 2016, 6ix9ine attracted more notice with songs like "yokai" and "hellsing station."
He worked with Jake Stash and Zen Black to produce exodia for all of these tracks in January 2017. He laboriously worked to make his videos as cool as he could. He claims to be the finest in the business when it comes to creating music videos, despite the fact that he claims to not particularly enjoy the sound of his own music.
While his videos started to get attention, he also began to receive his fair share of criticism. He was able to turn these drawbacks into assets, and in addition to crediting his critics with spreading the word about him, he also succeeded in making friends out of rivalry.
The artist Zillakami, a former business partner of 6ix9ine, is the subject of Takashi's largest scandal to date. According to 6ix9ine, he provided Zillakami with food, cash, and a place to stay throughout the summer of 2016. And according to Treyway, 6ix9ine's manager, the conflict started over a video shoot incident, as well as a disagreement over the use of some beats.
However, Zillakami told a very different tale in August of 2017. Zilla claims that 6ix9ine slept with a 13-year-old girl before being detained for statutory rape. The bailout, according to Zillakami, cost a stunning $20,000, which 6ix9ine allegedly never paid back. Zillakami and other 6ix9ine critics began disseminating this photo, which purportedly depicts 6ix9ine with a minor, as proof of his alleged crimes.
Additionally, there is this screenshot that purports to show his accusations and the fact that he pled guilty. It should be noted that Danielle Hernandez is a name that is not uncommon and that it is unclear whether or not 6ix9ine is the subject of this rap sheet. Additionally, it should be emphasized that Zillikami has not provided a receipt proving that he has paid the defendant's bond.
After that, 6ix9ine attempted to approach Zillakami about the accusations in front of a tattoo parlor, but Zilla rebuffed him.
Trippy, a friend and another rapper, opted to separate himself from the suspected statutory rapist after this issue arose. Although Trippy didn't believe him, 6ix9ine did refute the accusations, and the two musicians went on to trade blows for years.
On October 8, 2017, he released the single "Gummo." The tune received over 15.6 million views in less than a month. It later received a platinum certification from the RIAA and peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song, which Tekashi hailed as the second-hottest to come out of New York, made him extremely proud. He released two gold-certified singles, "kooda" and "keke," which were both featured on his debut mixtape, "day 69," which was made available in February 2018.
With a gold certification, the project peaked at number four on the Billboard 200. Along with "tati" and "zkittlez," it also includes the top-charting songs "gummo," "gotti," "rondo," and "billy." He had reached unprecedented heights in his career. Behind the scenes, 6ix9ine was still having a lot of difficulties. He frequently appeared in court on allegations of sexual misconduct.
Then, in July 2018, he was taken hostage. Additionally, he was battered and robbed of about 750 000 in custom jewelry as well as 35,000 dollars in cash. This happened just a few days after Nicki Minaj and Murder Beats had been filming a new music video for his platinum single fefe.
This single holds his highest charting signal to date, reaching number three on the US rap chart, the US r&b and hip-hop chart, and the US hot 100. That is a three out of three.
